The opulent Regency costumes that elegantly parade across TV screens in the miniseries Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story have deservedly earned an Emmy nomination in the category of "Outstanding Period Costumes for a Series." Meanwhile, the film Emma, based on Jane Austen's novel and starring rising star Anya Taylor-Joy, garnered an Oscar nomination for costume designer Alexandra Byrne. Serbian costume designer Jovana Gospavić, who contributed as an assistant costume designer on Queen Charlotte and a costume design assistant on Emma, also played a key role in shaping the costume narratives of these acclaimed projects.
These aren’t the only successful achievements of the costume designer who has been living and working in London for the past ten years. After graduating from the prestigious London College of Fashion, she added several notable works to her already impressive portfolio, including the TV miniseries Mary & George starring Julianne Moore, the romantic drama My Policeman set in the 1950s and featuring Harry Styles and Emma Corrin, and the war drama Benediction, which tells the story of World War I veteran Siegfried Sassoon. And that’s just a fraction of her accomplishments.
