Costume designers are integral to storytelling, seamlessly shaping narratives, setting the mood, and vividly portraying the era and social standing of characters. With a strong reputation and established status, these creatives can often earn millions and achieve stardom on par with actors and directors. For instance, Edith Head, the legendary American costume designer, won a record-breaking eight Oscars for Best Costume Design between 1949 and 1973, making her the most awarded woman in the history of the Academy.

Most recently, her team earned an Emmy nomination for Best Period Costumes for the series Queen Charlotte and Mary & George.
